Perform the Ram Navami puja right in your own home
1. Sankalp
Start your day early by taking a purifying bath. Once you are ready, take a moment to make your Sankalp - a sincere mental vow to perform the day’s rituals with full attention and devotion.
2. Altar Preparation
Clean your puja area and decorate it beautifully with fresh marigold flowers and mango leaves. Spread a red or saffron cloth on your altar and carefully install an image or idol of the Ram Darbar, which includes Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, and Hanuman.
3. Abhishek
Perform the Abhishek by ceremonially bathing the idols using Ganga Jal or Panchamrit, a sacred mixture of five nectars.
4. Madhyahna Ritual
At precisely 12:27 PM, which is the symbolic moment of Lord Rama's birth, you should place a small idol of Rama in a decorated cradle (Jhoola) and rock it gently to celebrate His arrival.
5. Aarti and Recitation
Light a ghee lamp and incense, then perform the Aarti with deep reverence. You can spend the rest of this auspicious window reciting from the Ramcharitmanas or chanting the Shri Ram Raksha Stotra.
6. Kanya Puja
Invite nine young girls to your home, worship them as living forms of the Goddess and offer them a traditional meal of Halwa-Puri as prasad.
