When India became independent, it didn't have an official national anthem. Rabindranath Tagore's "Jana Gana Mana" was adopted later, in 1950.
Goa's Delayed Entry
While most of India gained independence in 1947, Goa remained under Portuguese rule until 1961, when it was annexed by Indian troops.
