Building the Gudi: A Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take a medium-length bamboo stick and tie a bright silk cloth (usually yellow, green, or saffron) to the tip.
Step 2
Attach twigs of neem and mango leaves around the cloth.
Step 3
Add a garland of red flowers and a sugar crystal garland (gaathi).
Step 4
Place a clean, inverted copper or silver pot (kalash) over the top of the stick.
